Hardcat is excited to announce that the Hardcat V-Series has evolved significantly, with the latest release being Hardcat Version 7.60. Since the release of V5 in 2018, our software has undergone substantial enhancements to provide greater value and efficiency for your organisation.

 

Hardcat V-Series v7.60 Key Improvements

Below is a selection of the key improvements and new features you would receive by upgrading beyond Hardcat V5:

 

Hardcat VX Core Improvements

  • OpenID Connect Authentication.
  • Multi-column ordering.
  • Email notifications can send users only the relevant sections of PDF reports.
  • Speed enhancements to file storage.
  • Tracking and reporting on workgroup config changes for compliance.
  • Company Logos in reports.
  • Thumbnail images in reports.
  • Deletion alerts.

  • Search for blank preset responses.

Barcoding

  • QR Code generation.
  • Reports updated to focus on MiCat auditing.

 

Depreciation

  • Command line depreciation calculations.
  • Scheduled depreciation calculations via scheduler.
  • Automatic updating of Open Accumulated Depreciation when Prior Year Value is changed.

 

Maintenance

  • Labour rates for Engineers for actual Labour costs to compare with estimates.
  • Work order generation via scheduler (no more need for windows task scheduler).
  • Scheduled work order advance notice period.
  • Differentiate between Ad-hoc and generated work orders.
  • Ability to mark budget years as inactive to avoid wrong year selection.

 

Help Desk

  • Labour rates for Engineers for actual Labour costs to compare with estimates.
  • Problem templates for simplified problem raising for end users.
  • Escalation sort order based off escalation period not alphabet.

  • Scheduled Purchase Orders from Templates.
  • Ability to set Finance status and Maintenance Start/end dates of assets prior to creation.
  • Ability to mark budget years as inactive to avoid wrong year selection.

 

Stock/Inventory

  • Stock movement reporting enhancements.
  • Integer quantity of stock now a stock type setting instead of global.
  • Stock Groups for commonly issued kit.

 

HardcatWeb Enhancements

  • OpenID Connect Authentication.
  • Multi-column ordering.
  • Tabbed view.
  • Ability to set preset classes manually.
  • Audit compliance dashboard.
  • Asset images in HardcatWeb.
  • Dashboard chart customisation.
  • Grid rearrangement per user.
  • Searches brought in line with desktop functionality.
  • Detaching from core entities (ability to clear location/person/cost center etc).
  • Copy functions for Assets/Problems/Work Orders.
  • Stock transfer page (for when issue mode is set to ignore source).
  • Problem templates.

Important: Support for Hardcat V5 Ends Soon

 

As a reminder, support for Hardcat Version 5 will end on 1st October 2025. After this date, support requests for V5 will require upgrading to the latest version before we can assist with issues.

 

If your organisation has a current Hardcat SMA, you are entitled to a free annual upgrade. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of these new features and improvements to maximise the benefits for your team.
