Hardcat and JOSCAR

NEWS: 10 September 2025 – Hardcat solutions meet industry standards and is accredited for aerospace, defence, and the security community. We are a fully registered JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) supplier in both Australia and the United Kingdom.

The JOSCAR Registration Mark is valued by the largest purchasers in the aerospace, defence, and security community and indicates that the accredited organisation has gone through the process required to demonstrate its commitment and credentials to the industry.

JOSCAR enables quick and seamless engagement for suppliers working with the defence, aerospace, and security sectors. It’s a trusted qualification system that shows Hardcat meets the high standards these industries expect.

For our clients and partners, this means faster onboarding and smoother collaboration, with compliance already in place, we can get to work quickly without the usual admin hurdles.

The Australian JOSCAR system will be managed and supported by a Hellios team, based in Brisbane and led by Tom Maund.

What is JOSCAR?

JOSCAR stands for Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register and is a UK (and now in Australia since 2024) system that currently comprises two dozen major defence companies and 6,000 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

It constitutes a supplier management community that Hellios says has slashed compliance and administration costs for buyers and suppliers.  It acts as a single, online platform where suppliers can showcase their capabilities and demonstrate compliance with industry standards.

The Australian system emulates the successful program in the United Kingdom and has already been adopted locally by the Australian Department of Defence and companies including BAE Systems Australia, Raytheon Australia, Babcock Australasia, Lockheed Martin Australia, Boeing Defence Australia, and Saab Australia.

“AIDN fully supports the introduction of JOSCAR in response to members’ concerns about cost and administration burden of demonstrating compliance with customer requirements. Members achieving JOSCAR registration should experience simplified compliance processes and makes it easier to do business with new and existing customers,” said Brent Clark, Chief Executive Officer Australian Industry & Defence Network National.
