Hardcat Lebosi v2.18 introduces new capabilities designed to strengthen asset compliance, improve accountability and make asset information more actionable across enterprise and mobile environments.
Released in September 2026, the latest version introduces a new Compliance Policy Framework, enhanced search and dashboard functionality, expanded file and image management, improved system administration capabilities and new asset movement workflows in Hardcat Lebosi Mobile.
Together, these enhancements continue to strengthen Hardcat Lebosi as an enterprise asset management platform focused on accurate asset information, operational evidence and accountable asset control.
Compliance Policy Framework
One of the major enhancements in Hardcat Lebosi v2.18 is the introduction of a new Compliance Policy Framework, providing a more risk-based approach to asset compliance management.
Rather than relying solely on fixed, periodic asset audits, the framework continuously evaluates asset activity and identifies assets that require validation. This allows organisations to focus attention on assets that have not demonstrated recent evidence of activity, helping reduce unnecessary audit effort while maintaining visibility of asset compliance.
How the Compliance Policy Framework Works
The Compliance Policy Framework brings together defined policies, asset domains, notification schemes and compliance directives to establish how asset compliance is measured, which assets are subject to the requirements, and what actions occur when compliance thresholds are breached.
A Compliance Policy defines how asset compliance is measured. A Compliance Domain defines the collection of assets to which the policy applies, using criteria such as Product Types, Locations, Organisational Units and asset attributes.
The Compliance Notification Scheme defines the notifications to be delivered under the scheme, while the Compliance Directive combines a policy and multiple domains and specifies event durations, escalation timeframes and notification recipients.
Where an asset within a defined domain has not been validated within the required period, a Compliance Event can be generated. This creates an exception-based process for responsible personnel to locate, validate and confirm the accuracy and management status of the affected asset before compliance is restored.

Rather than allowing individual trace logs to grow indefinitely, log files can now be automatically rolled over while keeping trace messages intact and readable. Smaller, structured log files can make information easier to search and manage, while automated file handling reduces the need for manual oversight. The structured approach can also support data retention requirements by making older files easier to identify and manage.
Higher-Precision GPS Data
Hardcat Lebosi v2.18 introduces a new high-precision numeric data type for storing GPS latitude and longitude values.
The new data type supports nine decimal places of precision, providing greater precision than the existing Float data type. This enhancement provides a more precise way of storing GPS coordinate information where high-resolution location data is required.
Relative Date Searching
Hardcat Lebosi v2.18 introduces Relative Date Searching within the Query Builder for Date and Date/Time fields.
Users can now create searches based on periods relative to the current date and time, without needing to specify fixed dates. This makes it easier to identify recently created records, upcoming events, overdue items and records falling within dynamically defined time ranges. This enhancement helps users create searches that remain relevant as time progresses, reducing the need to continually update date criteria.
Interactive Dashboard Tiles
Previously, Review area tiles on the dashboard displayed only the total number of items in each area. They can now be configured as clickable links, allowing users to navigate directly to associated sub-entities.
Dashboard tiles can also be configured with dialog priming data in addition to the existing search specification. When a tile launches a dialog, the configured search specification and dialog priming data can be passed to the dialog so it can be initialised with the required context.
This reduces the need for additional selections when users move from a dashboard indicator into the associated data.
Location and Supplier File Attachments
Hardcat Lebosi v2.18 expands file management capabilities for Location and Supplier records.
Users can now associate and manage files directly against Location and Supplier records, providing a central place for supporting documentation and images.
A new Primary Image function also allows users to select a representative image for a Location or Supplier record. The selected image is displayed on the entity screen, providing an immediate visual reference for sites, buildings, facilities, equipment locations and customer premises.
Associating images and supporting documents directly with these records can provide additional context, reduce ambiguity and make entity-specific information easier to access.
Hardcat Lebosi Mobile 2.18
The Hardcat Lebosi Mobile app also receives significant enhancements in v2.18, particularly around asset movement, custody and evidence capture.
The latest release introduces online Check In, Check Out and Move workflows for assets and exhibits, giving mobile users greater capability to record changes in asset custody and location while working in the field.
Check Out
The Check Out transaction enables users to transfer one or more assets or exhibits from a source site to a destination site while capturing relevant condition and delivery details.
Check In
The Check In transaction enables users to receive and register one or more assets or exhibits at a destination site and location. Users can also capture instructions relating to the asset’s Home Location.
Move Transaction
The Move transaction allows users to relocate one or more assets or exhibits within a site by assigning them to a new location, with the option to capture condition information and Home Location update instructions. The mobile application captures the transaction data, while the processing required to update Home Location information is handled through backend business rules.
Strengthening Asset Accountability
These workflows provide a clearer digital record of asset movements by linking each transaction to a specific user and timestamp. This helps organisations maintain clearer custody records, keep location and ownership information current, support internal checks and incident resolution, and identify usage patterns that may indicate when equipment requires servicing.
For organisations managing shared equipment, mobile assets, high-value equipment or exhibits, maintaining an accurate history of who moved an item, where it went and when the transaction occurred can be an important part of operational accountability.
Capture Multiple Images During Mobile Data Capture
Hardcat Lebosi Mobile v2.18 enhances the Capture Asset process by supporting one primary image together with multiple secondary file attachments.
A primary image field has been added to the first Capture Asset tab, while the existing attachments tab remains available for secondary files. Users can therefore capture multiple related files during the same data capture process, rather than repeatedly saving individual attachments.
The enhancement is designed to save time, reduce the possibility of an attachment being missed and link related files to the asset record through a single save operation.
Expanded RFID Scanner Support
Hardcat Lebosi Mobile v2.18 adds support for additional RFID scanners, including:

- Urovo DT50P
- Chainway C72
The expanded device support provides additional options and flexibility for organisations using Lebosi Mobile and RFID technology for asset auditing.
